Disaster Management

Our Organization Key Work Areas

Human Relief International primarily helps people in need, makes plans to deal with disasters, and teaches people new skills. In addition to saving food and setting up clean water and energy sources, we want to improve access to sustainable ways to make a living, build and support healthcare facilities, and train skilled and vocational workers to protect the environment. We also offer workshops on sanitation, hygiene, and basic life skills to help solve health problems in communities around the world.

Disaster Management

Humanity will always be at risk from natural disasters because of the nature of our planet. If there is a disaster, there is a high likelihood that someone will get hurt or die during the event. There is also a possibility that vulnerable people may lose their sense of belonging to a group, their homes, and other belongings. Their emotional and physical health are also more likely to suffer because of these stressors. People need to remember to help vulnerable people in need due to natural and human-made disasters affecting developing countries. Developing countries are especially susceptible to climate change and natural disasters because they don’t have the money to get help quickly if something goes wrong. Many experts think that the floods that hit Pakistan in June 2022 were caused by a lack of management and resources, not by a sudden change in the weather. No matter what caused the floods, the people of Pakistan continue to suffer for several reasons. Many people are still seeking assistance due to a lack of financial resources. According to a report from the World Bank, it could take Pakistan up to ten years to get back on its feet after billions of dollars’ worth of flood damage. Because they lack funds and skills, natural disasters remain a constant threat to them. People in Pakistan, particularly those living along the riverbank, have suffered greatly.

People have lost their homes, possessions, lives, and even clothes. They are exposed to extreme weather, so tents are needed; they lack food; they need food. Many parents have lost their children, as have many children who have lost their parents. It is a disaster! Many people are waiting for help.

In Pakistan, Human Relief International stepped up and offered its services with the help of its volunteers in flood-affected areas. These people are still vulnerable because they lack funds and skills, and the government cannot help them. In light of the upcoming winter season, we need your support to ensure that those people who are most vulnerable get clean water, food, medicine, and clothes.

Our disaster management department works in the following areas:

  • People commonly lose their belongings and income sources as a result of disasters. For example, in the case of the catastrophic flood in Pakistan, nearly everyone lost everything. We teach them how to live independently and give them food, clean water, tents, and shelter from bad weather to help them stop being hungry.
  • Additionally, we broadcast WebTV programs and social media to promote training and life skills and teach them how to deal with common diseases during such calamities to save their lives.
  • Our scholars and seminar organizers also set up conferences and meetings to talk about people’s problems and issues. In this case, they were taught how to find and use limited resources, get vocational training, and deal with emergencies and natural disasters in a positive way.
  • In addition to helping people in emergencies, HRI has also begun working on sustainable projects. More than half of donors’ funds help people create long-term development projects. By getting communities involved, we do provide foods to needy, clothes and shoes, and build homes for people who have lost theirs because of natural disasters.
